Stuff from Stephers

I used to share a blog with Melissa, but she's been MIA for a few months, so I made it all mine! Random thoughts on my every day life to bore you with.

Olympic ponderings

I haven't gotten to watch much of the Olympics since I've been at work most of the time. And then sleeping the rest. However, today one of the sports I most wanted to see was on...basketball. I love to see who ends up on the team. I also wonder...do they HAVE to be NBA players? And how do they "try out" in basketball? I guess I could look that up, but I'd rather just ponder about it. Anyhow, what I was really thinking was how weird it must be to be playing with teams speaking another language. I mean...that must cut the trash talking to a minimum right? And it must be seriously hard to get any cues or figure out what the other team is calling. You can't apologize if you know someone down and you can't tell someone to stop it if they're messing with you. Not that they would, but I'm just saying... And, I was also thinking about how un-young Lebron James looks (photo at left). He's only 23, yet he has tattoos everywhere and looks totally mean at times. And upon more research I found out that he has two kids. I'm sure he's very responsible and all that, and he stayed with his high school sweetheart apparently which is cute, but still...he's only 23. Anyhow, I also saw a clip of the USA basketball team cheering on Michael Phelps in his 8th gold medal swim and that was really cute. And then some other pictures of the USA basketball team that are really cute. I liked that the USA team seems to be pretty good sports this year. Now I must get on with my day.

I watched Michael Phelps win his 8th live, which was awesome. Other than that, my fave events are synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymastics, probably because I'm a dancer, but no one else ever gets excited about them :)

Rhythmic gymnastics is absolute crap. Oh, and they use hoops and "clubs" in addition to ribbons. But, I see little to no "gymnastics" in it. Real gymnastics are awesome.
