Can I not do some work?

Can a girl not go to an internship for a few hours without something crazy happening in the world? Like Anna Nicole Smith dying or the crazy diaper astronaut thing? Really?!!!

The chatter in my office was so loud after the Anna Nicole news that the people doing actual work had to shut the doors to drown out the noise. Crazy stuff.

Bobby Bones said this morning that the person who was happiest over the Anna Nicole thing was that crazy astronaut lady because nobody was paying attention to what a looney toon she was anymore.

I have an "urgent news feed" that pops up with loud beeping on my computer at school. Does Anna Nicole Smith dying impact my life?! What is so urgent about that piece of news that I am interrupted from my work to learn about it?! The news that she died can't wait til I get home?!
